The 3 most critical things to remember:

  2. Store your battery in a cool place (cool area in your house is fine)
  3. Aim to keep your battery charged between 20-80%

For more detailed Battery Care information, please read below.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

As your ebike begins to get dirty, or after a wet or muddy ride, be sure to wipe down your bike with a soapy sponge or cloth and dry off when clean. DO NOT use a jet washer as this is not good for motors, gears, bearings, other mechanical parts and certainly NOT your battery. If your battery is removable, take it out and wipe it down making sure it is clean, especially all connection points on the bike and battery itself.

CHARGING YOUR BATTERY

Do not charge immediately after a ride, instead give your battery 30 minutes to cool down before charging.

It usually takes about 3-6 hours to charge your battery depending how much charge it has left and the capacity and brand – this is made clear with eBike Specification

Always use the branded charger provided to ensure the correct voltage and current and to protect your warranty.

Charge your battery indoors and / or at a temperature ideally between 10-20 degrees to maximise charging performance.

Try to avoid charging your battery to 100% and don’t let it dip below 20% if possible. To maximise the longevity and charge your battery holds aim for 20-80% charge at all times. However it is fine to let your battery fully discharge every few months.

Remember one of the key drivers for battery life, is how much you charge it – the more you charge, the shorter the battery life. So if you use a little more pedal power and only charge when you need to, you can cycle safe in the knowledge you are doing everything you can to make your battery last!

BATTERY STORAGE

To get the most out or your battery store in a cool, around 10-20 degrees, dry place.

Make sure it is charged to around 50-70% for storage, especially if this is for more than a month

After 4-6 weeks, check the battery and ensure it is at least 50% charged, if not charge until 70%, but no more

Keeping your battery’s charge around 50% whilst it is stored will help maximise its charge capacity and also its longevity

After every 30 charges or so (if you charge once a week, about twice a year) let your battery fully discharge before recharging it again, to maximise its charging capacity
